To use PalOMoney, do the following:

  • Back up or copy your Money file. (Always back up to a different disk, e.g., a flash drive, or another computer.)
  • Optionally, open Microsoft Money Sunset or 2008 on the same file.
  • Launch PalOMoney.
  • If this is your first launch, locate and open your Money file, otherwise choose your Money file from the recent file list.
  • Observe the list of securities in your investment accounts in the Portfolio View window.
  • Click Update Now to update your quotes using the default settings.
  • Observe the updated investment prices and totals.
  • Optionally, fetch historical quotes:
    • Click the History check box,
    • Click the Specify Historical button (labeled "...") next to History to launch the Historical Quotes dialog.
    • Choose or enter appropriate settings (e.g., Weekly on Fridays), and click Ok to close.
    • Click Update Now to update both historical and real time quotes.
