How to Be a PalOMoney Tester

Testers get free access to the latest Software releases. There is no compensation for being a tester, and testers are not employees, subcontractors, or agents of PalOMoney.com.

  1. Apply to be a tester by creating Store and Forum accounts on the PalOMoney.com website. (Currently, you have to create multiple accounts. Be sure to use the same user name and password combination throughout the site so that the accounts can be merged in the future). It is essential that you use your real name, address, and customary email address. The web site will send you one or more verification emails you can use to activate your accounts.
  2. From the Store’s Contact Us link on the bottom of each page, send a message to the webmaster to request classification as a tester. Please write a short note about yourself, including links to your online sites, if any. Explain your use of Microsoft Money and other financial software, including the functions you use in the software (e.g., banking, credit cards, investments, loan tracking, budgeting, tax preparation, etc.).
  3. We will send you a reply. We can accommodate only a few testers, however, additional testing slots may open up in the future.
  4. Approved applicants will receive a copy of the Tester's Agreement (on the wiki). Return this form by email as indicated in the letter.
  5. We will set your status as an approved tester. This includes authoring rights to the Wiki and downloading store items using a “purchase order” for payment.
  6. To download the software, complete an order for the software, select the “Purchase Order” method of payment, and check out. You will receive an invoice, and the software will be available for download.
  7. Optionally, download and install a root certificate on your computer that will eliminate the “Unknown Publisher” dialog when installing applications from the web. Besides eliminating the dialog, installing the certificate allows Windows to verify that the software you download and install is genuinely from PalOMoney.com.
  8. Download and install the software. Report any installation issues to the Installation Support Forum.
  9. Launch and test the software according to the Test Installation procedure.
  10. Use the software, and report any bugs or usage issues to the Bugs or Usage Support Forum.
  11. New releases may have a multitude of new bugs. Please report these promptly, so that the bugs may be fixed and a new release distributed.
  12. Make any suggestions for enhancements in the Enhancements Forum.
  13. Optionally, you can edit the Wiki to add your notes, or correct mistakes so that others can benefit from your experiences.
